Orthopedic Surgeon Profile

I chose a career as an Orthopedic surgeon because I was captivated by the mechanical nature of the field and I enjoy being able to make a direct impact on someone’s life by getting them back to a healthy and active lifestyle as quickly as possible.

I am passionate about Sports Medicine and the prevention or management of sports-related injuries. I specialize in advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder and knee, ligament reconstruction, cartilage restoration procedures as well as fracture care, tendon repair and joint replacement.

During my fellowship, I received sub-specialized training to deal with complex Sports Medicine cases. During this time, I assisted in the care of several professional sports teams including the New York Jets and New York Islanders. You don’t have to be an athlete to see me though, I see patients of all ages and athletic ability with musculoskeletal issues.

In my practice, I treat every patient as though they are a member of my family. I like to sit down with my patients to educate and involve them in the clinical process, focusing on patient-directed care, with the goal of optimal recovery. I always strive to provide the highest quality of care, with respect, compassion and attention to detail.

My practice style is to get to know the patient as a whole and understand their goals to create a personalized plan to meet their needs. This means communication is a top priority for me since it is the key to building a relationship of trust with my patients.

To be a good surgeon, you have to know when to operate and who to operate on. Surgery is not always the answer. Sometimes a more conservative approach with physical therapy and a home exercise program is best. I tell patients that they should enjoy life, do what they love and if for some reason their body won’t allow them to do those things, maybe I can help.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons. We like going outdoors to hike, play tennis and explore the wine country.
