Obstetrician-Gynecologist Profile

I’ve been in medicine for more than half of my life, choosing this path because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives – especially for women. I was and am drawn to the whole human physicology and how the body works, changes and responds.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is unique as a medical specialty. No other specialty offers the best of both worlds of medicine: the long term relationship with patients and the ability to do medical procedures to help them live their best life. I am privileged to see patients through every stage of life from puberty through their elderly years and comprehensive women’s health care.

OB/Gyn is a changing specialty with newer technologies and I have a special interest in female urology and pelvic surgery.

I also love taking care of women throughout their pregnancy and to be there when their baby is born and watch their families grow is very rewarding. Some of my patients have been with me since I first started in medicine and I have seen kids that I helped deliver go to college and their moms go through menopause and it is very rewarding work.

My patients often tell me that they appreciate the time I take to listen to them and understand their problems and what they are going through. I really try to put the patient at ease so they feel comfortable when they come to see me. I work to find common ground so we can relate to one another and there is always something I can learn about them so I see them as a person and not just a problem to solve.

There are little things that bring me joy in my work each day. For example, running into a patient at school or in the stores. When I see the baby I delivered grown and happy, and see the influence I’ve had on their lives, it makes me very happy.

I am a mom, myself, with three children so when I am not working, I am busy with them. I also play piano and enjoy skiing, hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
