Internal Medicine Profile

My inspiration for becoming a doctor was my mother. She is also an internist and primary care physician and I grew up having the opportunity to watch her care for her patients and know what it really means to be a primary care physician and to care for a patient.

I learned by watching my mother that beyond a respectful relationship, being a physician is a lifelong commitment to always do what’s right for that patient in health and in life, as you would do for your own family member. When I was 15, I accompanied my mom to a patient’s 100th birthday party. She was invited as the guest of honor, given that she played a great role in helping him achieve this incredible milestone in a great state of health. That day confirmed my desire to become a primary care physician.

As an internal medicine doctor, I treat patients age 18 and up and I enjoy managing a myriad of cases. Prior to coming to NorthBay, I practiced in a large urban setting, in which I served a diverse patient population, including international patients traveling via plane or cruise ships. The bulk of my practice is now centered in preventive medicine and managing chronic comorbid illnesses. These may commonly include hypertension, diabetes mellitus, obesity, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, and pulmonary diseases.

I love what I do. I am passionate about caring for my patients. A great day for me is when I establish with a new patient and I am able to educate them on what preventive care is all about. It’s about seeing your doctor before anything makes you feel sick.

As a doctor, I always strive to be considerate and thoughtful. I’m a listener and an educator. I’m an advocate for my patients and work to empower them to make decisions along with me by educating them and adapting to their individual needs, considering cultural and social preferences. In short, my patients can expect my undivided attention, empathy, understanding, and enlightenment. Developing a long term relationship with my patients and providing them with realistic and individualized solutions that take into consideration their particular needs is what makes me happiest in my work. I am thrilled when I see my patients satisfied and smiling.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family (including my 2 akitas), singing (I’m not good but I love it), dancing (especially hip hop), traveling (before and hopefully after COVID), hiking, skiing, motorcycle riding, wine tasting, meeting new people and adventures.
